HEALTHY RASAM
Ingredients:
¼ cup toor dal soaked
Salt to taste
To Pound Coarsely:
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp black pepper
5 pips garlic
A very small piece of asafetida (not powder)
To blend:
2 ripe tomatoes
A handful of coriander leaves
½ tsp turmeric powder
Method:
Boil the dal in 1 litre of water till well cooked.
The dal should be very well mashed.
Now add the blended ingredients into the dal water.
Add also the coarsely pounded ingredients into the mixture.
Add salt and crush well with your hand.
Pour it into a pot and let it come to a slow boil.
When you see it frothing up, remove and serve.
