KEERAI KUZHAMBU
Ingredients:
250 grms of seru keerai, cleaned and cut into 1 inch length.
2 tbs cooked moong dal
200 grms chopped onions
200 grms chopped tomatoes
2 tsp chillie powder
3 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp tumeric powder
1 lime sized tamarind, make 2 cups juice
Salt to taste
To Grind:
3 tbs grated coconut
3 green chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp black pepper
To Season:
2 tbs oil
2 sprig curry leaves
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 dried chillies cut into pieces
Little asafoetida powder
Little cut coriander leaves.
Method:
Heat oil in a pot, add in the seasonings. Add in the onions.
Saute well till lightly brown. Add in the tomatoes, chillie powder,
coriander powder, tumeric powder, salt and the cooked moong dal.
Mix well, add in the cut keerai and 2 cups of tamarind juice.
Cook on medium heat untill the keerai is cooked.
When the gravy boils add in the ground paste, and mix well.
Let it boil for a minute, remove and add the cut coriander leaves.
