Aloo Bonda:
Bajji/Bonda flour - 1 cup
onion - 1
carrot -1
Boiled and peeled potato - 3
green chillies - 3
mustard seeds
chill powder
turmeric powder
oil
salt
Method:
Heat a pan with oil, put mustard seeds, let is splutter, add onion, fry it, add salt, turmeric powder, chill powder, green chillies, fry for about 5 mins.
Add finely chopped carrot then mash the potatoes, add it and give a good mix, keep it in medium for about 5 mins. Now shape the aloo mixture as medium size balls.
In a bowl, add the bajji/bonda flour and add water, mix it well to get a consistency of pourable batter just like idly dosa batter.
Heat a deep pan with enough oil. Once the oil is hot enough, dip the aloo ball in the bonda batter and marinate it well with the bonda batter, drop in the oil.
You can fry for about 5 bondas simultaneously. Transfer the fried bonda to a plate covered with tissues. Let the tissue obsorb the oil.
Serve with tomato or cocunut chutney.
