PAAL PONGGAL
Ingredients:
1 cup raw rice
2 ½ cups of milk
2 ½ cups of water
Little salt
Method:
Wash and soak the rice for about 30 minutes.
In a thick bottomed pot, add in the milk and water.
Let it simmer for a minute.
Add in the drained rice, salt and cook on low heat.
You have to keep on stirring so that the rice does not burn.
The rice should have cooked to a ponggal consistency.
Remove and serve with the ponggal kulambu.
