SEEYALI ( Kugan )

SEEYALI

Ingredients:

2 tsp of oil
¼ tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp urad dal
½ onion chopped fine
1 sprig curry leaves
Salt to taste

To Be Dry Roasted And Made Into Rough Powder:
1 tbs coconut
¼ tsp coriander seeds
¼ tsp cumin seeds
2 dry red chillies
½ tsp roasted channa dal
Little tumeric powder
Little asafoetida powder

3, a day old iddlis cut into cubes
Little coriander leaves to garnish.

Method:
Heat a non stick pan with the oil.
Add in the mustard and urad dal.
Let them splutter, add in the onions, salt and curry leaves.
Saute till the onions turn a bit limp.

Add in the powdered mixture, saute well in the oil.
Add in the cubed iddlis, and stir fry well, till the masala is coated well.
Garnish with the cut coriander leaves.
Serve hot.
